AI summary based on real user insights
Owners consistently praise the Chefman TurboFry for being easy to love and trouble-free, with many noting it's very easy to clean and gets used daily. Longevity comes up often too, with some users reporting units still running strong after 4 years. The roomy basket, viewing window, and light are called out as standout perks that make the cooking experience feel more premium than expected.
That said, build quality complaints surface repeatedly. Several reviewers describe a lid or basket that doesn't feel securely fitted, and one user reported the basket drawers won't go back into the unit. Others report more serious durability issues, including a Teflon coating falling apart and general concerns that the unit is not well made and didn't last. Safety complaints stand out too, with one user describing being burned twice by a loose basket tray and calling it 'complete garbage,' while another said it ruined a perfectly good air fryer and felt Chefman needed a warning label. Customer service also gets a knock, with one user noting Chefman hasn't responded to their issue.
Use cases skew toward quick, everyday meals and smaller households. One reviewer said it's perfect for one person, while another highlighted it as perfect for a piece of salmon and easy to use. Another described it functioning well across multiple modes as an oven, air fryer, toaster, and convection oven, making it versatile for quick meals. Crisping results were mixed, though, as one user said items for toasting and reheating didn't come out very crispy despite otherwise liking the results.
On value, users seem pleased with what they get for the price. One reviewer flatly stated Chefman is great for only $45, and another echoed that it's pretty affordable and functions well. This value framing shows up alongside general satisfaction comments like 'seems to do the job, I'm happy with it'.
A recurring unique observation is the brand's reputation credibility, with one commenter noting Consumer Reports recommendations include Chefman. Another pointed out that Chefman is a newer brand compared to established competitors, which may explain the mixed build-quality experiences some users report even as many others remain loyal, satisfied users.
