AI summary based on real user insights
Among the handful of things users do appreciate about the Hamilton Beach Sure-Crisp, longevity and brand loyalty stand out. One user noted they have had a Hamilton Beach for over 20 years, reflecting genuine trust in the brand overall. A few owners also highlight its versatility and build, and many are pleasantly surprised that it runs really silent during operation.
However, the overwhelming theme across user reviews is frustration with cooking performance. Users consistently report that the appliance takes much longer to cook things than expected, with some needing to more than double or even triple the stated cook times. The air fry function draws particularly sharp criticism, with users bluntly describing it as something that simply does not work well, and one going so far as calling the Hamilton Beach air fryer setting "bullshit." Some found that food would not cook properly at all, requiring them to finish meals in a conventional oven.
Temperature reliability is another serious concern. Several users point to known temperature issues, including a temperature knob that just spins without functioning correctly. Toasting results are equally unpredictable, with bread coming out either barely toasted or charred black with little in between. The unit also tends to dry out food rather than crisp it properly.
The broader consensus among users is captured well by one observation that this device is a jack of all trades, master of none, and that combo units like this rarely work well across all functions. It is worth noting the unit is also much smaller than many buyers expect, which adds to the overall disappointment. Shoppers looking for a reliable dedicated air fryer or toaster oven may be better served by a single-purpose appliance, as this model is not among the higher-rated options in its category.
