AI summary based on real user insights
Users consistently praise the Kenmore Elite 700 Series 81714 for its cleaning performance, noting it does a great job actually cleaning and delivers a fantastic job on carpet. The UltraPlush nozzle is singled out as a standout attachment, and the power nozzle swivels nicely, making maneuvering around furniture a smoother experience.
That said, the machine does come with some notable drawbacks. Pet owners in particular may be frustrated that fur gets wound up fast and that brush removal requires removal to address it. Reviewers also take issue with the design feeling dated in places, pointing to an outdated bag dock with no tightly fitting seal and heavier wire reinforced hoses that feel behind the times.
For those shopping on a budget who still want capable canister vacuum performance, this model earns strong marks. Users describe it as an affordable way to get a power nozzle canister that is loaded with features, making it a compelling option for value-conscious buyers who prioritize carpet cleaning.
Overall, reviewers regard these as very solid machines for the price, suggesting that despite the older design choices, the 81714 punches above its weight class and delivers real-world cleaning results that justify the investment for most households.
