Ninja Foodi Air Fryer, 10 Qt DualZone Smart XL, 6-in-1, Black, DZ550 | Air fry, roast, broil, bake, reheat, dehydrate, Smart Cook thermometer, Match Cook, Smart Finish

Owners consistently praise the Ninja Foodi DualZone DZ550 for its ability to crisp fries and chicken with a noticeable upgrade in texture, often without much added oil. Several reviewers specifically call out that they're no longer dealing with the sticking issue they had with older models, and the unit is described as simple to clean and beginner-friendly. Some users go as far as calling it the best thing I have ever bought, with others summing it up simply as great.

On the downside, a handful of users report reliability concerns, including units that stopped working after a couple years of otherwise good performance. Others describe more alarming issues like the appliance smoking and being extremely loud. There are also gripes about maintenance, with one user noting the baked-on grease being ridiculous and the basket coating tearing up quickly. The built-in thermometer, while a headline feature, has been flagged by at least one user as under-reading by about 7 degrees, so it's worth double-checking probe accuracy.

This air fryer seems best suited for households that want to cook two different foods at once thanks to its extra basket space, which users say has proven far more useful than expected. It appeals to people who prioritize crispiness above all, since it's described as hard to beat when crispiness is the priority and capable of reaching higher temperatures than typical models. The inclusion of a temperature probe also makes it appealing to those cooking meats who want doneness precision, per notes that the 550 comes with a temperature probe.

Several reviewers highlight the overall design and versatility as strong value propositions, describing the unit as looking amazing and very versatile and offering a good mix of simple and versatile functionality. For users upgrading from older or smaller air fryers, the jump in performance is frequently mentioned as justifying the investment, particularly for crispier, more consistent results.

One recurring side note is that despite being marketed as compact, some users push back on that framing, with one comment noting it's hardly a compact air fryer given its 10-quart capacity and dual-basket design. This size trade-off seems to be an accepted compromise for the added cooking capacity and flexibility the DualZone design provides.
